Banham Door Locks Overview

How do I choose the best door lock for my property?

Choosing the most suitable door locks for your property can be confusing. It is usually advised as standard to have a rim latch and a mortice deadlock on the main entrance, meanwhile in more isolated areas it is recommended having an additional mortice deadlock for further protection.

But which rim latches and mortice deadlocks are best for you? Described below are the basic differences of Banham Door Locks to help you make the right choice. However, if you would prefer to discuss your options with one of our experienced security consultants you can book a free, no obligation survey where we will advise you what security will work best for you and your property.

Quick guide to Banham Door Locks:

Rim Latches

    • L2000. This key operated rim latch or rim deadbolt has been Patented and made to British Standard. It has self locking when closing the door and also locking by key. The 6 pin anti-drill cylinder prevents bumping, together with a saw- resistant bolt and the strict key registration system carried out by Banham to keep your family and possessions secure.
    • A2001. Also to British Standard and Patented, the A2001 uses a 6 pin cylinder and saw resistant lock, but instead of a single 10" high security striker this lock comes with triple striker. The lock bolt will operate two extra bolts from the striker into the door.
    • EL4000. This Patented lock also has self deadlocking, saw resistant bolt, security striker and 6 pin cylinder, although it is not a key operated lock. It is designed to be connected to an audio/video entry system so that when you grant access to a visitor the electrical signal will release the bolt from the striker.
Mortice Deadlocks
    • M2002. Compliant with British Standards, the high security 6 pin cylinder and hook shape steel bolt will avoid your lock being bumped or your door being spread.
    • M2003. In order to comply to fire regulations this lock is operated by thumbturn from the inside.
    • M5000. Euro profile cylinder and saw resistant hook shaped bolt made to British Standard and with strengthening escutcheons. Euro profile cylinders can be offset and extended to suit the thickness of the door.
    • M5008. M5000 operated by thumbturn complying to fire regulations.
    • G7034. Providing extra strength to your door through the escutcheon plates, this lock has extra steel rolls on the bolt and euro profile cylinder.
Lever Locks
    • M7. This British Standard seven lever lock was approved by Health & Safety Executive to be used on explosive stores. Has a saw resistant bolt and hardened escutcheons.
